Charlize Theron will not star in Mad Max Sequel
Charlize Theron is a 40 year-old actress from South Africa who is at the peak of her career. In 2008, she declared that she would like to be a citizen of the United States but not give up her South African citizenship.
After some years in production, Director and writer George Miller released the movie “Mad Max: Fury Road”. The movie starred Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa, a role for which she garnered acclaim from movie critics and fans everywhere. In an interview, Theron was asked about her thoughts regarding the powerful, female image she portrayed and what message it sends to other women. She said “I think when we use the word ‘feminism’ people get a little freaked out, it’s like we’re somehow, like, being put on a pedestal or anything like that. George has this innate understanding that women are just as complex and interesting as men, and he was really interested in discovering all of that. I think through just his need and want for the truth he actually made an incredible feminist movie.”
When asked about any plans for a sequel, George Miller stated that he had two working scripts for sequels to Mad Max: Fury Road, but the storylines, at the moment, do not include the character Imperator Furiosa, This, of course, does not provide a future role for Charlize. But, if we know anything about Hollywood, nothing is written in stone.
